Whole Wheat Banana Bread {RECIPE}

I try to sneak in healthy ingredients when I can with a house full of picky eaters. This is one recipe that tastes like the real thing. If you do notice a difference with whole wheat and all-purpose flour, try half and half. But my family loved this one and didn’t notice the whole wheat. This one is a must. Try this with homemade cream cheese frosting!

  1. 6 large ripe bananas
  2. 1 cup butter (softened)
  3. 2 cups of sugar
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  5. 4 eggs
  6. 3 cups whole wheat flour
  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  8. 2 teaspoons baking soda
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Put bananas in gallon zip lock bag and mash until smooth.
  3. Blend the butter and sugar in a large bowl.
  4. Add bananas and vanilla.
  5. Beat eggs in small bowl, then add to mixture.
  6. Whisk dry ingredients in separate bowl.
  7. Slowly add dry ingredients to banana mixture until completely mixed.
  8. Pour into two greased 9x5 inch loaf pans. Loosely cover each loaf with a sheet of foil.
  9. Remove foil off bread at 45 minutes and check every 10 minutes after. Bread is done when you can insert a knife in the center and it comes out clean.
